Junior Infants coloured a picture for Santa. We walked up to the post office and posted our letters. We were very lucky because we received a reply from Santa.
Santa came to visit us in Junior Infants. He was so happy with the song we sung for him. We were so excited to see him. He told us 'Go to bed early and be good boys and girls'.
Junior Infants are learning all about Advent. We were very lucky to get to see The Crib.
Junior Infants had their Christmas performance today, it was a great success and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Junior Infants were busy making The Nativity Scene in class. We really enjoyed using different materials such as straw and wooden lolly pop sticks.
The children in Junior Infants were learning all about the Doctors Surgery in Aistear. We were playing with Mr. Potato head learning all the body parts, playing Operation, building hospitals and the children got the chance to be doctors, nurses and receptionists. They learnt a lot of new words!
Today marks our last day of Gymboree :-( We had a great time singing songs, playing musical instruments, saying poems, dancing and most importantly bursting bubbles! Thank you Oonagh, we will miss you.
"Gymboree's philosophy is that children learn best when allowed to actively explore in an environment that is fun and appeals to their natural curiosity and desire to learn, supported by the people who matter most in their lives." Claire Lerner
Today we participated in the '2nd Annual Kids Yoga Day'. To prepare for this special event we learned lots of poses. We learned the Queen, Kite, Waterfall, Rag Doll, Windmill, Yoga and Flamingo poses. We love Yoga!
Last Friday a mobile farm came to our school. We saw lots of farm animals. We saw a pony, a pig, lambs, chicks, rabbits, hens, roosters, goats, donkeys and even a turkey. We got to hold a rabbit and a chick and some of us even got to feed a baby lamb! We had a great time. Thanks you Gerard for bringing your mobile farm to our school.
We had lots lots of fun making pancakes for Pancake Tuesday. We used three main ingredients when making them - flour, eggs and milk. First we sieved the flour. Then we whisked the eggs and added them to the flour. Next we added the milk and stirred the mixture. We then let the mixture set for a little while before Ms.O'Gorman brought it to the kitchen and cooked the pancakes for us. We then spread lots of Nutella on our pancakes. They were delicious!
