It was with great pride today that we accepted a flag from members of the Irish Defence Forces as part of the Flags for Schools Initiative. This Easter we will be commemorating the centenary of the 1916 Rising and celebrating 100 years since the Proclamation of the Irish Republic. The officers explained to us why this anniversary is so important to our nation and answered our questions. Why not find out more about the rising and the history of our national flag here. Well done and thank you to everyone who participated in our 5K run which took place yesterday evening. We were so pleased with the support we received from the local community and the running community! Congratulations to all who had a hand in organising the event which was a great success. Below is a selection of photos from the night but visit our School Gallery here to see more. Also, be sure to visit our Active Schools blog to keep up to date on the various activities happening in Scoil Chríost Rí.
Scoil Chríost Rí is working with schools and educational settings in five European countries to explore and enhance the quality and performance of school-Education Centre partnerships. The project, entitled Regional Education Centres in Pedagogical Europe (RECIPE) promotes collaboration with other European partners to develop and disseminate better quality training and support systems for teachers in all European countries. As part of this work, four teachers from Scoil Chríost Rí will travel to Sesimbra, Portugal to share best practice from an Irish perspective and learn from other European teachers. The course is fully funded through ERASMUS European Project through our national agency Léargas.
![]() We said good bye today to Mary Heath-Leamy who is retiring after a long and successful career in teaching. We will miss you and best wishes for a happy and healthy retirement!
We love our new wildflower garden here at Scoil Chríost Rí. It makes our school look bright and beautiful and it also attracts lots of bees and butterflies, adding to the biodiversity of our school grounds.
